Why I am Here (Slight Rant)

Hey!

I am Ben,

I fix bikes, and am the Sole Trader of Leeli Cycles
I like bikes, no, I love bikes! Nothing beats the feeling of air rushing past you from perpetual motion and pedal power alone, the thought of going anywhere without the borders of driving a road car, the ease of beating heavy traffic & rush hour, in the city, slipping through alleyways and queues, the fun of handling muddy fields, rough terrain, and forests, racing your buddies, navigating dark countryside footpaths, seeing if you can make it up those huge hills without stopping, showing off your balance and gravity defying moves on your BMX & Trails bikes, Or just riding with the family for a distant pub lunch or for a summer picnic. Isn't it great?!

But your bike is broken, chain rusted from being left outside, or in that leaky shed, Brake pads worn and brake oil depleted, gears skipping and sticking, wheels wobbling...
Oh man, where's the time, where's the tools? You may as well buy an new one now the bike shop tells you it'll cost £100 just to get it looked over... And you saw those bikes that only cost £70 these days... that's convenient....

These days, high street bike shops and superstores charge far too much for bicycle repairs, and you may notice the fact noted above that it costs the same amount to get your bike fixed as it would to buy a new bike altogether!

STOP! Don't do that...
But if it's too late and you already have one, don't worry, I can make it safer and more reliable!

These bikes are extremely low quality, a potential time bomb, death traps. I am amazed that they even get away with selling these plastic imitations of bikes!
Here's a site dedicated to the BSOs (Bicycle Shaped Objects): http://bicycleshapedobject.wordpress.com/
I am very concerned about this trend because a friend of mine almost got killed by his new budget bicycle, purchased from a well known Bicycle retailer because of Illegal plastic ball bearings & components being used to build it.
You'll never find a bike as good as one you brought for the same value 10-15 years ago for the same price!
